How we met

Our Story

Where it began

Brought together in the truth

Two friends serving Jehovah in the same circle, our paths crossed where so many good things begin — among the brothers and sisters. A warm conversation became a friendship, and a friendship quietly became something more.

We say “I do”

Before Jehovah, our families, and friends — we begin our life together as husband and wife.

Chapter Two

The Proposal

He said we had a picnic with a bunch of friends and asked if I could join. I believed him — we had always talked about how a proposal would be: somewhere at a restaurant, eating, and he'd simply give me a ring, I'd look at it and wear it myself. Only this man was keeping a whole surprise for me.

We first arrived at a wrong address, and when he realised and told me, I ran and left him — before someone sent their dogs after us! When we finally got to the right address, this man who was taking me somewhere I'd never been kept telling me to go in first. I said, “In your dreams, baba,” and bluntly refused, so he had no choice but to go in first with someone I'd never met, who I assumed was just part of the hangout.

I followed only to see rose petals on the floor and balloons everywhere — I thought the hangout was simply going to be a blast. Then I saw the words on the wall: “Will you marry me?” and this man walked straight to it. I was so shocked I couldn't breathe or move, until he asked me to come closer and began to confess, and asked me to marry him.

What came out of my mouth first was, “Oh my God,” then “Let me think about it,” and then I just said “YES.” It was so beautiful, especially finding out my friends were there too. I was flabbergasted.

A Threefold Cord

Ecclesiastes
4:9-12

1 Corinthians
13:4-7

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up... It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Colossians
3:14

“But besides all these things, clothe yourselves with love, for it is a perfect bond of union.”
